Matt Gondek
LA-based artist Matt Gondek paved his own path to greatness as a fine artist.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Gondek got his start by combining illustration and apparel design. He never had any formal training in art, but over time was able to shape his own unique style by modifying the characters he was drawing in commissioned illustrations.
Matt's art tends to be chaotic, but balanced. He often offers social commentary through his paintings, challenges the status quo, and isn't afraid to try something new or controversial. While his primary medium is acrylic paint, he's ventured into several new forms such as oil, sculptures and more. He's held galleries across the world and has pushed through the struggle to become one of the most recognizable names in modern fine art.
In this episode of Through My Lens, Matt Gondek breaks down his inspirations and aspirations and offers valuable advice for young creatives.
Through My Lens is a story telling video series focused on sharing the stories of creative people and how they made it, with the goal of inspiring the next generation of unique creators.
